• Indigital artivism •

All of Mataruma’s artwork is

INSPIRED by digital art, street art,

indigenous cultures, activism and many other things.

It is not authentic traditional (unless stated),

therefore not claimable.

It is only authentic and genuine

to the artivist himself and his views.

Art is subjective. Subjected to the artivist’s

imagination, creativity and artistic freedom.

Valued by perceptions &

interpretations of the audience.

The artivist does not wish to (re)claim anything

within prevailing views of modern day society

and its delusional reality.

He believes exploitative worldviews are diametrically opposed to indigenous worldviews,

just like modern day individualism and its dualistic thinking are completely opposed to complementary thinking and a collective way of life.

Water and oil don’t mix.

Water is life, greed is not.

His artwork is a vehicle to capture

his visions & creativity. To express the intrinsic.

To make the intangible, tangible.

To make from a kip zonder kop,

a cassowary with a helmet op.
